Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is going to launch Tourist SIM in Bangladesh like many other countries in the world. BTRC informed this information in a recent press release.
According to the notification, these SIM cards will be active for tourists for a period of 7, 15, 30 days. This SIM can be collected from any land, sea and airport in Bangladesh.
Operators cannot issue tourist SIMs outside a certain block. This SIM cannot be converted. If a long-term SIM is required, the bidder can take it through work permit.
Operators can also offer different packages for foreigners or tourists. However, it cannot offer any package other than data, voice, SMS and combo package at home and abroad. The SIM will be identified separately on the Central Biometric Verification Monitoring Platform. A maximum of two SIMs can be registered in one passport. There will also be e-SIM facility.
